Walsh University Test Optional Admissions Policy
At Walsh University, we believe that a student's potential cannot be measured by a single test score. As part of our commitment to educating the whole person, we take a holistic approach to reviewing applications and consider a student's academic achievement, coursework, involvement, leadership, and overall potential for success.
Walsh University offers a test-optional admission process for freshman applicants. This means you may choose whether or not to submit ACT, SAT, or CLT scores as part of your application. Students who choose not to submit test scores will not be at a disadvantage during the admission review process.

What Does Test-Optional Mean?
Through our test-optional approach, applicants may decide for themselves whether standardized test scores are an accurate representation of their academic ability and future potential.
Students who choose not to submit test scores will have their applications reviewed using the academic information and supporting materials provided as part of their application. Students who choose to submit test scores will have those scores considered as part of their admission review.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
Students who apply without ACT, SAT, or CLT scores remain eligible for admission and merit-based scholarships. Choosing not to submit test scores will not negatively impact scholarship consideration.
Program-Specific Requirements
While Walsh University offers test-optional admission, some academic programs may require test scores for Honors direct admission, early assurance, or specialized opportunities.
Can I Change My Testing Option?
At the time of application, students will indicate whether they would like their test scores considered as part of their admission review.
Students who initially choose to submit test scores may request to switch to the test-optional review process before an admission decision has been released. Once an admission decision has been issued, the testing option cannot be changed.
Sending Official Test Scores
Students who wish to submit official test scores should use the following Walsh University score recipient codes:
Any ACT or SAT scores submitted to Walsh University will be superscored whenever possible, meaning the highest section scores from multiple test dates may be combined for review.
