Campus Ministry

Inspired by the mission of the Brothers of Christian Instruction, Campus Ministry exists to build a vibrant Christian community that is grounded in the rich tradition and sacramental life of the Church and committed to evangelization, prayer, study, teaching and service.

Campus Ministry at Walsh University strives to continue the work of the Brothers of Christian Instruction and their mission to “make Jesus Christ better known, loved and served.” Students from any and every religious background are highly encouraged to participate in one of our many retreats, small group communities, men’s and women’s fellowships, service opportunities, nights of worship or mission trips. We extend a special welcome to graduate and commuter students, as well as students with no faith background at all. Campus Ministry works closely with the University Chaplain, the Theology Department and various student-led organizations to provide opportunities of ongoing faith formation to the Walsh University community.

You will find our offices all over campus: Connector 204, Menard/Betzler 243 and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel 106. In addition, pay a visit to one of our beautiful chapels. The Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel, the Connector chapel (located in the connector area of the residence halls), and the St. Teresa of Calcutta chapel (located in the Global Learning Center) are open many times throughout the week and available to all students (not just Catholic) for prayer, reflection, and rest. Let us be a home away from home!

Ignite

Ignite offers an hour of praise and worship before the Blessed Sacrament each Wednesday night in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel. The evening concludes with Compline, Reconciliation with the University Chaplain, and a social that fosters friendships and a deeper sense of faith-filled community.

Cavs for Life

Cavs for Life inspires students to uphold the dignity of every human life through prayer, advocacy, and action. This student-led ministry organizes Walsh’s annual pilgrimage to the National March for Life in Washington, D.C., and leads 40 Days for Life efforts in Stark County.

Retreats

Retreats are an opportunity to pause, reflect, and grow in faith and community. Each retreat offers a unique experience to encounter God and deepen connections with others.

Women's Retreat

A space for women to rest, connect, and be renewed through prayer, reflection, and shared stories of faith.

No matter where you are on your faith journey, our retreats offer a welcoming place to grow, listen, and be inspired.

Faith Formation and Fellowship Opportunities

Formation

Faith Formation Nights, held each Tuesday, invite students to grow in faith through engaging talks, discussions, and activities that nurture the whole person. These evenings help students strengthen their Christian identity, deepen their relationship with God, and discover how to live out the faith in daily life. All are welcome to take part and be formed in spirit and community.

Discipleship

Discipleship is an organized program with student-led groups that study Scripture, the lives of the Saints, the Catechism, prayer, and more. Each group is unique, offering a variety of topics to the student body. Discipleship is a good way to be involved and walk with other students who are trying to grow in their faith. Students are welcome to join discipleship groups throughout the year.
