The Hoover Historical Center welcomes all visitors and strives to provide an enjoyable and accessible museum experience. As a historic property, some areas have accessibility limitations; however, we offer accommodations to help visitors experience the history and exhibits of the museum.

  • Parking: Designated handicap parking spaces are available near the museum.
  • The Tannery: The Tannery exhibit is located at ground level and is wheelchair accessible. Bench seating is available inside.
  • Historic Hoover Home: A wheelchair ramp provides access to the first floor of the historic home, where exhibits are wheelchair accessible. Seating is available upon request.
  • Second Floor Exhibits: The second floor of the historic home is accessible only by stairs. For visitors unable to access this level, a recorded tour of the second-floor exhibits, with closed captioning, is available for viewing in an accessible area of the museum.
  • Tactile & Interactive Elements: Visitors with visual impairments or visual limitations are invited to explore select historic objects and interactive displays throughout the tour to experience the collection through touch.
  • Restrooms: Restrooms are available at the museum; however, due to the historic nature of the building and narrow doorways, they are not wheelchair accessible.
  • Guided Tours: All museum visits are led by knowledgeable docents who guide visitors through the exhibits and share the history of the Hoover family and The Hoover Company.
