Class of 2023
Major: Psychology, Pre-Physical Therapy

Kayla Hines, a rising senior, chose Walsh University because its close to home, has small class sizes and she felt welcomed from her very first visit.  Two weeks in to her first semester at Walsh, she recalls feeling that this was the place she was meant to be.

The faculty were personable, helpful and they called her by name, something she says encouraged her to engage with others and do well academically. A member of the Blouin Leaders in Social Justice program, Kayla soon found joy in self-exploration.

“The Leaders in Social Justice program has helped me dive into a deeper understanding of who I am and what I am passionate about,” Kayla said.  “Being part of this group has helped me get out of my comfort zone to have some great experiences.”

A psychology and pre-physical therapy major, Kayla is passionate about helping others and making a difference. In addition to the Blouins, she serves as secretary in the Pre-Physical Therapy Club, morale caption for Cavathon, she’s a board member for Women of the Word, plus she participates in Cav Cor Cordium and the Fellows Program.

“At Walsh, I am continuously learning and becoming even more passionate about my major,” she said. “I look forward to my senior year, conducting research and discovering more about physical therapy and what my future job will be like.”

Kayla plans to attend graduate school after graduation and obtain a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree.
