An adaptation of the traditional English major, Walsh University's Professional Writing major helps prepare graduates to communicate successfully in the digital culture. Professional Writing focuses not only on writing for digital communications but also the ability to research and evaluate the legitimacy of online information. Students will also be able to pursue a global specialization that will help the skills needed to thrive in global culture.
Personal Attention. Our class sizes are small, giving students more one-on-one attention from their instructors. Each student also is assigned an advisor and mentor for guidance throughout the undergraduate experience.
Global Experience. Students have various opportunities for international study through Walsh's Global Learning program. During their time abroad, students can utilize their Professional Writing skills by developing and maintaining a travel blog that communicates their experiences.
Theory Meets Experience. We focus our Professional Writing program on helping our students apply the skills and theories from their coursework to real-world situations, like internships and service-learning projects.
