Academic Scholarships and Competitions
Walsh rewards all incoming full-time freshmen with one academic merit scholarship based on their high school grades and test scores:
- Deshayes Scholarship - $20,000
- Vanasse Scholarship - $18,000
- Brothers of Christian Instruction Scholarship - $17,000
- La Mennais Scholarship - $16,000
- Farrell Award - $15,000
*Incoming freshmen admitted for Fall 2023 and on will receive one of the merit scholarships listed above* - Deshayes Scholarship - $20,000

Honors Competition
Walsh University invites academically qualified international applicants to compete in the Honors Competition for a chance to win a $24,000 or a full-tuition Presidential Scholarship. The Presidential Scholarship replaces any previously-awarded institutional funds. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher and a 25 ACT/1200 SAT or a 100 TOEFL/7 IELTS to be considered.
Blouin Global Scholars Program Competition
The Blouin Scholars Program at Walsh University provides students with a unique opportunity to become part of a community of students and faculty dedicated to using scholarship and service to address local and global challenges. This four-year program is designed to foster change-makers in the community and develop leaders in service to others. Students who are admitted into this program will receive a renewable $1,500 scholarship each year they remain in the program. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered.
International Grant
Annually renewed International Grants of $2,000 are given to all international students who reside on campus.
Campus Service Award
Campus Service awards give all international students who reside on campus an opportunity to earn up to $2,000 annually in an exchange for working an on-campus job for 4-10 hours a week. Payment is given in check-form.
Faith-Based Awards
Catholic High School Grant
Walsh University offers the Catholic High School Graduate Grant of $1,000 to entering full-time freshman. Students must have graduated from a Catholic High school and meet Walsh University’s admission criteria.
Campus Ministry Scholarships
Funded by the Brothers of Christian Instruction, this scholarship program seeks students who actively commit to the mission of Campus Ministry through exemplifying their faith in Jesus Christ.
Talent Based Grants and Scholarships
Athletic Grants
Athletic grants are awarded to outstanding athletes who agree to participate in an intercollegiate sport for the University. The number of awards and the amounts are determined by coaches and the Athletic Director.
Choir and Band Scholarships
Awarded to students with outstanding vocal and/or instrumental abilities who will participate in the University Chorale or band. The numbers of awards are determined by the Director. Students who are interested should contact the Director of the Chorale or Band.
Legacy Awards
Children of Alumni Are Very Special (CAVS) Grant
A $1,000 grant will be awarded to full-time dependents of Walsh University graduates and must be enrolled full-time in undergraduate courses. CAVS Grants are renewable for four years.
Sibling Grant
A $1,000 award will be granted to brothers or sisters entering as full-time undergraduate students, of any dependent student currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate program at Walsh University. An award for multiple siblings is also available.
