Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) & American Rescue Plan, 2021 (ARP)

  • Walsh University signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the institution has used the applicable amount of funds designated under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
  • The total amount of funds that Walsh University has received or will receive from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs is $3,395,093.
  • The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs as of January 10, 2022 is $3,395,093.
  • The estimated total number of students at Walsh University eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs is 2,556.
  • The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs as of January 10, 2022 is 2,556.
  • Walsh University provided block grants to eligible students with the CRRSA and ARP funds.
    HEERF II Funds:  The amount of the block grant for undergraduate students varied based on a stratification to prioritize students with exceptional need.  Students were assigned one point each for Pell Grant eligibility, having unmet financial need greater than $15,000, filing a FAFSA, and being a current student.  Students with four points received $1,000; students with three points received $700; students with two points received $520; and students with one point received $325.  All eligible graduate students received a block grant of $400.
    HEERF III Funds:  The amount of the block grant for undergraduate students varied based on a stratification to prioritize students with exceptional need.  Students were assigned one point each for Pell Grant eligibility, having unmet financial need greater than $15,000, filing a FAFSA, being a full time student, and being a current student.  Undergraduate students received payments as follows: five points received $2,235; four points received $1,795; three points received $1,340; two points received $895; and one point received $450.  Graduate students received payments as follows:  four points received $925; three points received $690; two points received $460; and one point received $300.
  • The University sent an email to students to notify them of the opportunity to apply their grant funds to their student account by providing affirmative consent and an email to notify them of payment.

We will begin disbursing payments approximately in mid-April based on your preferred refund method you have set up via your Student Account Center on walsh.afford.com.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have an outstanding balance on your account, you may request that these funds be applied to your account. If you would like to do so, please click on the following link to complete an Authorization Form NO LATER THAN March 30th.

We will begin disbursing payments approximately in early November based on your preferred refund method you have set up via your Nel Net Campus Commerce Site.

We are sending you this email to inform you that funds from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) have been processed for you. Payments were made based on your preferred refund method you have set up on you Nel Net Campus Commerce Site.

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE STUDENT SERVICE CENTER TO INQUIRE AS TO THE AMOUNT OF YOUR DISBURSEMENT. You may access the transaction details via your Walsh Student Account.

These funds are to be used “for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, healthcare and child care)”.

These funds do not have to be repaid. This grant payment is not taxable per the IRS.
