The First-and Second-Year Experience Program is committed to helping students succeed from the first day of arrival on the campus of Walsh University through graduation and beyond. The program aims to support incoming freshman and new transfer students in their transition to college through the facilitation of connections with faculty, staff, peers, and alumni, and numerous student support resources. The program aims to immerse each student in the Walsh mission and campus community.
First and Second-Year Experience Overview
The First-and Second-Year Experience Program offers three required courses:
- FYE 101-1 and FYE 101-2 Life Skills for College required in the freshmen Fall and Spring Semesters, respectively; and
- SYE 201 Excellence and Achievement in the Second Year required in the Fall Semester of the second year of college.
Upon completion of these courses, students will:
- successfully engage with the Walsh University campus community and members of the University’s alumni.
- utilize the appropriate skills and access the resources that promote academic, social, and professional growth.
- apply their own values, academic skills, personal and professional interests in pursuit of their career pathways in discovery of their purpose.
