Members of the Walsh community came together on Sunday, Feb. 2, to dedicate and bless the new one-of-a-kind stained glass window of Our Lady of Fatima in the St. Teresa of Calcutta Chapel. Located in the Marlene and Joe Toot Global Learning Center, the stained glass window was made possible through the generous support and thoughtful planning of Richard and Terie Jusseaume and Tim and Debby Bentivegna.
The window features a specialty design by artist Fred del Guidice of Ashland, Ohio, and was created by Bill and Cherri Vidonish, and their daughter Tiffany, of Vidonish Studios in Lexington, Ohio. Del Guidice is the owner of Art Celebrating Life and the father of Walsh alumna Naomi ’18 and current students Gabriel and Fred del Guidice.
Vidonish Studios adapted the artwork by del Guidice into glass and then installed the window on the exterior, second floor wall of the GLC, where it can be seen by those entering the building or driving on East Maple Street.
The Dedication and Blessing also marked the second anniversary of the blessing of the St. Teresa of Calcutta Chapel in honor of Walsh’s 1982 Honorary Degree of Human Services recipient, St. Mother Teresa.
“The Walsh community would like to thank Rich, Terie, Tim and Debby for their generosity,” said Vice President for Advancement Eric Belden during the ceremony. “Their love and dedication to Our Lady inspired them to commission this beautiful stained glass window. Not only is the window a work of art, but it also will serve as a guiding light for the entire Walsh community.”
