Share Your Story : I played football and Megan played softball for Walsh, and early during my senior year we were often hanging out with mutual friends at our house. Before one such party, Megan's best friend sent me a message secretly mentioning that Megan thought I was cute. Well, the feeling was mutual. When they arrived for the party, Megan took a seat on our cinder block end-table (a fine example of college d?cor). I squeezed in to make room on the couch, invited her to sit next to me, and 10 1/2 years later the rest is history!"
The Proposal:
"Starting in 2006, I began vacationing each summer with Megan's family to Topsail Island, NC, and we continue to do so today. It's a special place for us, and when I knew in the spring of 2008 that Megan was who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, I couldn't think of a better place to propose than on that beach in July. Donning a Hawaiian shirt and extremely nervous, I asked her to take a walk with me after dinner. After we'd walked so far that she was questioning when we'd turn back (again, I was nervous), I dropped to one knee and was made the happiest man in the world. It was special because we celebrated all night with her family, including her aunt and uncle with whom she was very close and that we ended up losing over the next year."
Where Are They Now?
"Today we live in Stow, Ohio with our amazing 2 year old son Liam and 1 month old daughter Hadley. And I can't forget to mention Roxy the dog who joined our family the summer we were married. I've been working for FirstEnergy for 8 years, and today supervise the Corporate Recruiting department. Megan has spent the past 5 years working with both children and adults in the rewarding role of a Psychiatric Support Case Manager, but is in the process of transitioning to her new calling as an amazing stay-at-home mom."
