We first were just friends in our high school choir class. I was supposed to go on a date with another guy to a movie. He stood me up, so my friend and I decided to go to Walmart. While at Walmart, I saw Caleb there with his friend. I went over to give him a hug, and apparently that was when he started to like me. I of course had no clue until he asked me out about a month later. I told him we could go on a "trial date". We went to the movies with a group of friends. While walking to the restaurant after the movies, I slipped and fell in the snow. Instead of helping me up, he stood there laughing. Luckily, I laughed at myself too so I wasn't upset.
The Proposal:
We were at what I thought was an anniversary party for his aunt and uncle at his parents house. About halfway through the party, he played his aunt and uncles anniversary song on his guitar. After that song he said he had one more song to play. He wrote a song about our story and then asked me to marry him. The best part about that party was when my parents came down the stairs to surprise me after Caleb proposed. The first thing my mom said as she hugged me was "We totaled our car on the way down here." My parents got into a really bad accident but we're lucky enough to walk away unharmed.
Where are you now?:
Caleb and I are living in North Canton. We bought our first home in October 2016. He currently has a full time job as a home heal tee have physical therapist and I have a full time job as a public school teacher. We found out in December that we are expecting our first child on August 3, 2017. Currently we have a very ornery cat named Kiwi that sucks all of our attention. She will have to learn soon that she isn't actually the center of the universe. We also attend and are members at First Christian Church where Caleb plays electric guitar in the worship band. We also just started leading our own life group for young married couples. We are extremely happy with where we are and can't wait to see where our future takes us.
