Handshake is a one stop career services, job and internship posting platform available for all students, alumni, and employers. Over 200,000 employers use Handshake to find students and graduates for jobs and internships in all fields.

Students

All students have a Handshake account! Sign-on to Handshake using your Walsh username and password. Once logged in students can register for events, book appointments, and discover or apply for jobs and internships.

Complete Your Profile:

We recommend that all Handshake users complete their profile by adding information about their interests, experiences, and education. When you complete your profile, Handshake will highlight jobs and internships that are relevant to you. If your major or career interests change, no problem, you can update your profile!

Start your profile with the following key areas:

  • Job type - Are you interested in full-time jobs, part-time jobs, and/or internships?
  • Location - Where would you like to work?
  • Job Role- What jobs would you like to explore?
  • You'll also want to update your work authorization status and add your anticipated graduation year. We also recommend setting your profile visibility to Community so you can engage with employers and students and Walsh alumni.

Make an Appointment:

To schedule a career advising appointment on Handshake, please follow the steps below:

  • Click "Career Center" in the menu on the left side
  • Click "Appointments"
  • Click "Schedule New Appointment"
  • Select your current year of college
  • Select an appointment type based on your interests
  • Select your time and date
  • Select your appointment medium and write a few sentences about what you'd like to discuss
  • Request the appointment and you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours
