Walsh University continues to stand out as one of the region’s best values in higher education, according to new 2025 rankings published by Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce (CEW). Using recent U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard data, CEW calculates the financial returns students can expect from earning a degree across more than 4,600 institutions, focusing on out-of-pocket costs and graduates’ earnings over time.
For bachelor’s degree graduates, Walsh University’s 10-year ROI—the cumulative earnings minus net education costs—reaches $178,000. This places Walsh third in Northeast Ohio, behind only Case Western Reserve University and Ursuline College, and ahead of notable competitors such as Mount Union, Malone, Kent State, and the University of Akron. Statewide, Walsh holds the 14th position among 69 institutions, and ranks 477th out of 1,682 nationwide for this metric.
CEW’s data tool also evaluates long-term financial outcomes. Walsh’s 40-year ROI for bachelor’s degrees stands at $1.93 million, placing it fourth in Northeast Ohio, 20th statewide, and 563rd nationally. While some institutions specializing in STEM, law, and medical programs rank higher in lifetime ROI, Walsh remains among the region’s most competitive, consistently outperforming other local colleges and universities in both immediate and sustained financial measures.
Walsh University’s ROI leadership reflects the strength of its premier programs in nursing, business, education, and the sciences, fields nationally recognized for robust earnings potential. Walsh ranks among the best in Ohio for programs like Accounting and Finance, and its flexible online degrees, such as the MBA in Healthcare Management, are consistently recognized for quality, convenience, and career impact. In addition, Walsh’s College of Health Sciences and DeVille School of Business offer hands-on learning environments valued by employers and graduates alike.
