Walsh University has achieved the prestigious Gold-level designation as a Military Friendly® School for the 2024-2025 academic year. This recognition highlights Walsh University’s unwavering commitment to supporting student veterans and their families through exceptional educational programs, resources, and services, led by Veteran Affairs Coordinator Joshua Ruiz, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly® designation are evaluated based on public data sources and responses to a proprietary survey conducted by VIQTORY. More than 1,800 schools participated in the survey this year, with only 537 institutions earning special awards for exceeding the standard. The Gold-level designation represents institutions that achieved overall survey scores above 41% or met five or more qualifying benchmarks, demonstrating excellence in areas such as student retention, graduation rates, job placement, loan repayment, and veteran-specific outcomes.
“Earning the Gold-level Military Friendly® School designation reflects our deep commitment to those who have served and recognizes the extraordinary value our military students bring to Walsh University,” said President Tim Collins. “We believe their leadership and determination enrich our entire campus community. By providing comprehensive resources and unwavering support, we honor their service, foster their remarkable potential, and empower them to fulfill their purpose, a cornerstone of our Catholic educational mission.”
“It’s an honor to serve those who have served. We walk alongside our military students and their families every step of their educational journey,” said Joshua Ruiz, Veteran Affairs Coordinator. “Being recognized as a Gold-level Military Friendly® School affirms Walsh’s mission to empower them to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.”
