Walsh University Leads Ohio Colleges with Science of Reading Curriculum Integration

Walsh University has been at the forefront of integrating the Science of Reading into our teacher preparation curriculum, becoming one of the first in Ohio to do so and is now a leader in the state of Ohio. The Science of Reading, based on the latest brain research and literacy development, is considered the most effective method for reading instruction, focusing on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Walsh University’s undergraduate and graduate education programs are leading in this critical area for preparing the next generation of teachers.
