Walsh University Appoints Megan Huston as Director of Culture and Belonging

Walsh University has announced the appointment of Megan Huston as Director of Culture and Belonging. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, this position will play a key role in cultivating a positive, student-centered community which fosters respect, dignity, and Catholic virtue among students.

Huston has spent the past four years in clinical mental health roles at local school districts and at Walsh University. She enjoys encouraging growth and change by emphasizing individuals’ strengths and resiliency. Huston looks forward to embracing Walsh United’s mission while continuing Walsh’s work in fostering a student-centered community. 

Prior to joining Walsh University in 2021, Huston served as a school-based mental health therapist. For the last 19 months, Huston has been with Walsh University as a College Counselor/Programming and Outreach Coordinator for Counseling and Health Services.

Huston earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walsh University. Her research findings regarding anxiety, stress and physical health amongst college students was published in 2017. She is also a 2021 Spring Spotlight Alumni of Leadership Stark County.

Outside of work, Huston loves to spend time with her family, especially her husband, Sylvester, and their son, Lincoln. As life-long Stark County residents, they enjoy visiting local restaurants and the natural parks of Northeast Ohio.
