Amy Heston, Ph.D., Professor of Inorganic Chemistry, represented Walsh at the National Quality Matters (QM) Conference November 8, 2022, in Tucson, AZ. Dr. Heston is Walsh’s first faculty member to present at QM’s national level. Her presentation “QM Faculty Liaison for E-Learning: From vision to reality,” explored how a QM vision became reality for Walsh. She shared how she strives to make a positive impact for students at a small, private university and how to use a new tool she created called the QM Faculty Liaison for E-Learning Builder.
“It was an honor to present at the Quality Matters Conference and to have the opportunity to help others who might be struggling with issues related to e-learning,” Dr. Heston said. “Representing Walsh University at this national conference was very special for me. The connections I’ve made through networking and sharing with others who know that quality in online learning matters are invaluable for Walsh.”
Quality Matters conferences bring together administrators, faculty, instructional designers and teachers from across the globe to deliver on the promise of online learning. From pre-conference workshops to the keynote address to dozens of breakout sessions, QM Conferences connect the online and blended learning community with the tools and resources they need to create quality learning environments and clear pathways to learner success.
Walsh University has been selected to host the 2023 Quality Matters Ohio Annual Member Meeting on May 12, 2023. The annual meeting is expected to draw faculty, instructional designers, and leadership throughout Ohio. Dr. Heston has been elected to serve as the Northeast Regional Representative and Chair of the conference. Call for proposals opens December 7, 2022, and registration is free.
