Alumni Spanning the Decades Return for Men’s Soccer 50th Anniversary

The Walsh men's soccer team celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the program on Saturday, October 23 with festivities that were befitting of the program's long history that began in 1970. The semicentennial reunion had been postponed until this year due to the pandemic.

Coach Gianfranco (Frank) Borroni who coached Walsh 72-81 also came out to celebrate, share stories and reminisce. He coached former men's soccer coach and current baseball coach Tim Mead when he played at Walsh between 1977-1980. The day started with an alumni tradition: a scrimmage game on the practice field with teammates and coaches spanning multiple generations and a special pre-game tailgate.
