About Walsh > Student Outreach

Student Outreach

The Office of Student Outreach was established in 1999 as part of Campus Ministry in the Division of Student Affairs. The department is committed to developing and providing sustainable and reliable service partnerships that meet the real critical needs of our community.

The Office of Student Outreach serves as a liaison between the university and local service agencies. Our primary focus is to assist students in finding community service opportunities and volunteer placement. The department is committed to seeking out and promoting community service opportunities in which our students can become engaged.

The Office of Student Outreach is dedicated to engaging students in reflection on the social teachings of the Catholic Church, as they relate to the issues of justice and peace.

Mission Statement

The Office of Student Outreach is committed to providing students, faculty and staff with high quality service opportunities that enable them to develop into intellectual, social and ethical citizens ready for leadership in today’s world. The focus for community service is on meeting and addressing real community needs, especially as they pertain to the most vulnerable members in our community, and that promote action in the public arena on behalf of social and economic justice in the tradition of Catholic Social Teaching.
