The Government and Foreign Affairs Major (formerly Political Science) is designed to provide the following
a basic understanding of government in preparation for democratic citizenship
an understanding of the global system which influences both American life and government.
a specialized foundation to those planning to enter government service, public administration or foreign service, teaching research, graduate and/or law school or politics.
The Government and Foreign Affairs curriculum provides an introduction to severval main areas in the the field such as the American political system, the global system and political theory. The major is designed to give a specialized foundation to those planning to enter government (public or foreign affairs), teaching, research, graduate school and/or politics.
