Consultative Councils: Diversity, Clinical, and Co
DIVISION OF EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCILS 2007-2008
The Division of Education ‘s Consultative Council consists of four advisory groups created to work with the Division faculty, staff, and candidates to provide dialogue and feedback related to the mission of the unit: Diversity-Service Learning Advisory Council, Clinical Advisory Council, Content Advisory Council, and Graduate Education Advisory Council. The councils shall limit their activities to advising the division leadership on policies and procedures related to undergraduate and graduate teacher education activities.Members of the Advisory Councils represent the university, community, public and private schools and agencies, and alumni of the Walsh University teacher education program. The President of Division student clubs and graduate students also serve as standing members of the Council. The Advisory Councils may meet periodically as one large group but will function as separate advisory councils to address specific topics or tasks of the Division.
Analyses of unit-wide and specific licensure program assessments, including e-portfolio artifacts, Clinical Practice evaluations, PRAXIS II and Principles of Teaching and Learning (PLT) results as well as candidate exit, alumni, and employer surveys are routinely shared with the council members for their feedback. This feedback is shared with unit and content area leadership and faculty members as part of the continuous improvement planning.
