Academic Resource Center
The Academic Resource Center at Walsh University is composed of two centers that operate in the same location: the Writing Center, which helps students with the development, composition, and editing of papers both graduate and undergraduate, and the Learning Resource Center, which offers students tutoring in selected subject areas and provides certain academic accommodations for students with documented learning disabilities. Both Centers provide individual tutorials in half-hour or hour-long sessions, peer tutors who have a solid background in their areas, and tutor schedules that allow for both walk-in appointments and by-arrangement opportunities. Schedules are posted around campus and relayed to students and staff via e-mail. The Centers begin operation during the second week of every semester, and the last day for tutoring is generally the Thursday before the last day of classes. During examinations, only the Learning Resource Center is open, in order to offer exam proctoring services. The Academic Resource Center is located in room 209 of Farrell Hall. The off-campus phone number is 330/490-7235, and the on-campus phone extension is 7235.
